Influenza vaccine subsidy

The JERA Health Insurance Society subsidizes the costs of influenza vaccines received by insured persons and their dependents.

Content

Subsidy target Influenza vaccines (all types, including new and seasonal vaccines as well as FluMist)
Eligible members Insured persons and dependents who are eligible for enrollment in the JERA Health Insurance Society (including Voluntarily and Continuously Insured Persons)
  • * Persons vaccinated from October 1, 2024 (Tue.), to January 31, 2025 (Fri.), are eligible for the subsidy.
  • * If you were vaccinated during the subsidy period, had lost your JERA Health Insurance Society eligibility at the time of applying, and therefore cannot apply via My Page, please use the inquiry form to contact us.
Vaccination period October 1, 2024 (Tue.), to January 31, 2025 (Fri.)
Subsidy amount Maximum amount of 2,000 yen per person vaccinated (The subsidy can only be applied for once.)
  • * If the vaccine costs less than 2,000 yen, the subsidy will be for the actual cost of the vaccine.
  • * If the vaccine is administered twice and costs less than 2,000 yen for the first shot, then the subsidy will be for 2,000 yen of the total amount for both shots.
How to get your vaccine and apply
Payment method In general, in the case of any application that is examined by the examining institution (Value HR Co., Ltd.) by the 15th of a given month, the benefits will be transferred on the following month's salary payment date.
  • * Application details will be confirmed in the order that the applications are received, but please note that?during the peak period from November to January, when a lot of applications are received at once?payments might be one month late.

Use your subsidy ticket at a contracted medical care institution. (In this case, you only have to pay the copayment amount.)

If you used your subsidy ticket at a contracted medical care institution, it is not necessary to apply for the subsidy with the Health Insurance Society.
Please note that subsidy tickets can only be used at contracted medical care institutions, so be sure to check the List of Contracted Medical Care Institutions before trying to use one.

  • * Subsidy tickets will not be mailed to your home. Therefore, please print out subsidy tickets by using the JERA Health Insurance Society website.(Available for both monochrome and color printing)

Flow from making an appointment until the date of the vaccination

If you would like to be vaccinated, check the "List of Contracted Medical Care Institutions", and then call the desired medical care institution and find out if it is necessary to make an appointment.

Print out the "Influenza Vaccine Subsidy Ticket", and then enter the necessary items.

On the vaccination date, present your insurance card at the reception desk and submit your Influenza Vaccine Subsidy Ticket.

After being vaccinated, pay the copayment amount (minus the Health Insurance Society subsidy amount) at the reception desk.

Get vaccinated at a non-contracted medical care institution, and then apply for the subsidy via My Page. (In this case, you have to pay the entire cost in advance.) 

If you received the influenza vaccine at a non-contracted medical care institution and then paid the full amount in advance at the reception desk, instead apply via My Page. For details on how to apply through My Page, go here.

  • * If your municipality has a subsidy system for influenza vaccines, you can apply for the amount minus the subsidy amount. Please attach documents that can be used to confirm the amount of the subsidy from your municipality ((1) a payment decision notification and (2) a receipt that indicates the subsidy amount) when applying.

  • * Applications cannot be accepted after the period has passed.

  • * Note that we cannot pay subsidies if your receipt, detailed statement, or other relevant document does not include items 1 to 5 below. Please have your medical care institution, etc. add these items as necessary.
  • 1. The vaccination date
  • 2. The name of the person vaccinated
  • 3. The influenza vaccine fee
  • 4. The receipt must clearly indicate the influenza vaccine fee (You may also attach a detailed statement or certificate of vaccination instead.)
  • 5. The name of the medical care institution
